ME & MY CRAYOLA
ART
COMPETITION
In the Philippines, crayons are synonymous
to Crayola. And who among us Filipinos didn't get the chance to
use Crayola during our younger years? Indeed, Crayola crayons bring
back happy childhood memories.
Celebrating 100 colorful years globally,
Crayola in the Philippine through its exclusive manufacturer and
distributor, Amalgamated Specialties Corporation (AMSPEC) conducted
a nationwide art competition.
With the objective of recognizing talents
among children, the contest was conducted and best artworks were
awarded. The
judging of artworks were done at Museo Pambata with Jerry McFadden
and Douglas Smith of Binney & Smith USA and Australia, respectively,
Charina Sta. Maria and Geraldine Laygo of Amspec and Madonna B.
del Mundo of Museo Pambata, as judges.
The event was also graced by AMSPEC top management
led by Mr. Rolland R. Thompson, President, Eliseo S. Laqui Jr.,
Executive Vice President and Branden B. Thompson, Assistant Vice
President.
The activity was formally opened by AMSPEC Marketing
Manager, Antonette Ravana-Severino. Other guests included friends
from media: Phil. Daily Inquirer, Phil. Star, Mla. Bulletin, Today,
Vanity
Magazine, ABS-CBN Channel 2, ABC-5 and UNTV Channel 37.
Entries were categorized based on age and region:
Category 1 are 4-7 years old, Category 2 are 8-10
years old and the last category which is Category 3 are 11-15 years
old. Regions were divided into four: NCR, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
Category 1 winners from NCR are Neil Simon Domingo(1st) and Issey
Kirsten Abrera (2nd); from Luzon are Enrhiya delos Reyes (1st) and
Julie Ann Salazar (2nd); from Mindanao are Christal Hannah Owatan
Lee (1st) and Raya Faye M. Bahian (2nd).
Category 2 winners from NCR are Hana Richelle Tang Tan(1st) and
Vance Galvin Tangcuenco (2nd); from Luzon are Katya Marquez (1st)
and Elleonor Calonzo (2nd); from Mindanao are Kim Ashely Escalona
(1st) And Noreen Cantal (2nd).
Category
3 winners from NCR are Jeane Renee Nubla (1st) and Omron Monroe
Ado Soto (2nd); from Luzon Christiana Andrade (1st) and Anna Patricia
Ingocnito (2nd); from Visayas is Randolph Maribojoc (1st); fromMindanao
are Junica Mae Venci (1st) and Neil Dranreb Vasquez (2nd).
Grand Prize Winners are Issey Kirsten Abrera (1st) and Neil Simon
(2nd) for Category 1. Hana Richelle Tang Tan (1st) and Vance Galvin
Tangcuenco (2nd) for Category 2.Jeane Renee Nubla (1st) and Randolph
P. Maribojoc (2nd) for Category 3. The winners and best entries
were displayed at Museo Pambata. |
